Our Lake Superior Trip in 15 quick pix: Kayaked the Pictured Rocks, ate Jean Kay pasties at sunset, ate delicious deep-fried whitefish from Brown Fisheries Fish House at a lovely lakefront park in Paradise, MI, visited the “root beer falls,” and ate West Pier hamburgers (voted one of the ten best in Michigan) in front of the Soo Locks, and then drove around Les Cheneaux Islands. Played some great golf, and ate delicious food cooked by somebody other than us, for the first time in four months. Discovered this great coffee roaster in Munising, MI called Gallery Coffee that someday, post Covid-19, would be a wonderful spot to return to and enjoy the space, the photography, and their delicious pour-over coffee. We stayed at My Place in Marquette, which came with a kitchen in the room, so we were able to cook the majority of our meals on the front end of the trip. It was nice to get away and given the restrictions, we felt fairly safe with all the precautions places we visited were taking. Next time, in a post-Covid world, if such a time will exist, it would be fun to stay at the Landmark Inn, which is right in downtown Marquette and close to the lakeshore. We’d also like to make it out to Houghton and Copper Harbor. It was fun to explore a part of Michigan we hadn’t seen before!
